From her Spring Hill practice, Melissa offers a full range of gynaecological services. She places great importance on making sure each patient feels comfortable and cared for. Her longer consultation times ensure there is plenty of time to share any gynaecological concerns in a safe, professional environment. She always provides a thorough explanation of symptoms, a full discussion of the available treatment options, and takes the time to answer your questions.
You’re most welcome to bring your partner, family member or friend to your appointments.
Melissa can assist with the management of gynaecological issues including:
- Abnormal pap smears
- Colposcopy
- Heavy or irregular menstrual periods
- Contraceptive advice
- Pelvic pain
- Urinary incontinence
Melissa can perform some minor procedures in her rooms. If you require a more complex surgical procedure, Melissa operates at the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane and Spring Hill Specialist Day Hospital. You will be given full information about the surgery, and how to prepare for it, during your consultation.
Yes. You will need to bring a referral letter to your first visit. We will also ask you to complete a Patient Information Sheet when you arrive, or download one here to complete beforehand.
For your first consultation with Melissa, please bring a referral letter from your GP. Please also bring any blood results and scan reports ordered by your GP, along with your Medicare Card and Health Fund details.
Yes. This means that for surgeries (with some exceptions), Melissa will accept the amount your private health fund contributes to the relevant item numbers. You won’t be required to pay any gap. It is important to note that other medical practitioners associated with the surgery (for example the Anaesthetist or other specialists) may still charge you a fee for their services. These fees are determined by the individual practitioner and are outside Melissa’s control.
Yes! We are a very family-friendly practice and love our patients bringing their children with them to visits. You’ll find pram and wheelchair access, toys, books and a baby-change table. And if you need someone to hold your baby or entertain your toddler while you are in seeing Melissa, then Donna, Felicity and/or Nicky from our Administration and Reception team will be only too happy to help!
