At every appointment, you’ll be welcomed into our relaxed, modern and professional private practice by an outstanding Administration Team who will look after you with courtesy and personal attention. You are more than welcome to bring babies and children, and of course your partner or a support person, to any consultation. Our practice has pram access and baby-changing facilities, as well as wheelchair access.

About Melissa
Dr Melissa Luckensmeyer has practiced exclusively in women’s health for over 15 years. She graduated from The University of Queensland in 1996 and chose to complete her medical training here in Brisbane. Melissa has a wonderful rapport with midwives and thoroughly respects their invaluable role in pregnancy and delivery.
She embraces ongoing medical training to stay at the cutting edge of advancements in her field. Renowned for the personal attention and consideration she shows her patients, Melissa always places their emotional and health needs first.
For Melissa, the most rewarding part of being a Fertility Specialist and Obstetrician is helping a couple conceive, and then being able to deliver their healthy baby safely.
In her down time, Melissa loves spending time with her husband, David, and their three daughters. An avid reader, she enjoys keeping fit and escaping for weekend camping trips when she gets the chance.
About David
David is our Business Manager and has been married to Melissa for 21 years. He is instrumental in ensuring the business runs smoothly and efficiently. His focus is on providing behind-the-scenes support for Melissa, staff and patients, thus creating a safe and professional environment.
David is personally responsible for the warm and welcoming feel of the practice. He is an accomplished woodworker, and designed and oversaw the practice fit-out himself. The result of his expertise is a clean, modern and positive space that both patients and staff enjoy. A hands-on and active Dad, David can often be found cheering his daughters on at school functions.

Donna, Felicity and Nicky make up our wonderful Administration and Reception Team. Having worked in the medical field for many years, each of our staff has a highly developed appreciation of patient care. They know what a difference a friendly greeting and a helpful attitude can make, and they’ll do everything they can to assist you in person or over the phone. If you have any concerns or questions regarding Medicare, private health funds, hospital admissions or appointments, our team is here to help.
Felicity
Practice Manager
Experienced in all aspects of medical administration, Felicity takes great pride in ensuring that each day runs smoothly and with complete professionalism. Her kind and empathetic nature is evident in her dedication to patient care, ensuring each patient feels comfortable and supported at every visit.
Felicity joined Melissa’s practice five years ago, after completing her family with four “horrible, yet delightful” children of her own! She feels privileged to share in the journey of parenthood with Melissa’s patients, and is always ready for cuddles with the babies.
Nicky
Medical Receptionist
Nicky is the newest addition to our team. Possessing a calm, positive nature and a bright, warm smile, she understands that a friendly greeting can help patients feel at ease as they arrive for their appointment.
Nicky began her career in pharmacy before choosing to move into medical administration. Her strong customer service experience, attention to detail and excellent organisational skills ensure that our practice is always prepared and running efficiently.
Karen
Medical Receptionist
Karen has seen a number of changes to IVF over the years. As a trained nurse she is experienced in many aspects of fertility care and patient support. Her career started in pathology as a collection nurse — back when patients had up to three blood tests a day.
After the birth of her own children, Karen worked at the QFG Day Theatres, now Spring Hill Specialist Day Hospital, before joining Melissa’s team. Empathetic towards patients on the IVF Journey, Karen finds joy in witnessing patients achieve a successful pregnancy and finally welcoming a healthy baby.
