What Are Your Fertility Treatment Options
Taking a holistic approach to fertility, Melissa explores all possibilities to help a couple enhance their natural chances of conception, and will discuss all options available to you before advising of any advanced treatments. Melissa is experienced in diagnosing and treating a diverse range of fertility issues including complex cases. She works closely with her patients to tailor a fertility treatment plan specific to each couple’s individual circumstance.
One of only a few female Fertility Specialists in Brisbane who is also an Obstetrician, Melissa can offer her patients a high level of continuity of care — from fertility planning and treatment, to conception, and through to pregnancy and birth.
Our aim is to provide you with the best chance of a successful pregnancy and healthy baby.
During your first consultation, Melissa can help you understand and monitor your ovulation cycle to identify your most fertile days, and review your lifestyle factors that may be affecting your fertility, such as diet, weight, alcohol, drugs, smoking and exercise. Improving your general health may help increase your likelihood of conceiving.
Melissa will discuss any previous pregnancies or pregnancy loss and assess any measures that may help reduce the chance of recurrence. These may include pre-pregnancy genetic testing and counselling if there is a significant risk of a chromosomal or genetic condition based on you or your partner’s family history.
- Pre-Conception Screening
- Ovulation Induction and Monitoring
- Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) or Artificial Insemination
- In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
- Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
- Assisted Reproductive Treatments (ART)
- Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)
- Egg or Sperm Donor Program
- Fertility Preservation
- Other advanced treatments are available such as Testicular Aspiration (TESA)
Many women may wish to preserve their embryos following an IVF cycle, or if they feel they aren’t ready to have a baby yet but their age is advancing. Other patients may consider fertility preservation if they have a serious illness.
Melissa can discuss the process with you and, in partnership with QFG, can assist you in preserving your fertility for the future.
We will ask you to complete a Patient Information Sheet when you arrive, or you can download one here if you’d prefer to complete this before your appointment.
